Developing in Microsoft Azure

The Microsoft Windows Azure Platform is the latest solution by Microsoft in the expanding cloud computing space. The current Microsoft platform focuses on key cloud capabilities such as hosted infrastructure, utility billing model, on-demand scale, deployment diversity (C#, Java, PHP), and baseline services such as storage, access control and connectivity.

This hands-on course covers various aspects of the Windows Azure Platform including Windows Azure, Windows Azure Storage, SQL Azure Service and AppFabric. Lectures and examples begin with Azure account options, discussion of Web Roles and Worker Roles, identification of various storage options, how to establish access control and review of connectivity service. Students will utilize C# and gain experience in the use of Visual Studio 2010 and the Windows Azure Tools Extension as they navigate through the various exercises and examples.
